Admissions open for diploma in software

Mysore-based Raman International Institute of Information Technology (RiiT) has opened admissions for the second batch of one-year post gradu­ate diploma in Software Program­ming (PGDSP).
RiiT is supported by the IT department of Karnataka Government and the course is certified by the University of Mysore. RiiT would admit 1,000 stu­dents in the current batch. The course will commence on 1 February, 2008.
The students would be trained in technical, communication, problem solving, verbal and soft skills. The stu­dents would be given hands on train­ing and industry exposure through project and internship.
Admission to the course would be based on an entrance test, which will be assessed by 'Merit Trac', an ex-
ternal industry based assessment agency.
Founder & CEO of RiiT S V Venkatesh speaking to reporters said RiiT has been playing an important role in bridging the gap between the . IT industry requirements.
The prospectus and application forms would be issued till 10 Decem­ber. They are available at all branches of Syndicate Bank in Karnataka and it can also be down­loaded from 'www.riit.com'.
The eligibility criteria for the course is a pass Engineering or Science degree. The entrance exam for the course would be conducted at Mysore, Ban­galore, Chennai, Belgaum, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Davanagere, Mangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ernakulam on 23 December. The last date for the submission of the application form is 13 December.
